"Lawlessness is happening": Russian champion demands UEFA postpone Euro 2024 U-17 to please Russia

Former Spartak defender Eduard Mor is outraged by Sweden's plans to ban Russian women's soccer players from the U-17 European Championships if they qualify for the tournament. The native of Selidovo, Donetsk Oblast, who started his career at Luhansk-based Zorya, cynically called the sanctions against the aggressor country arbitrary.

Mor said this on the air of the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The two-time Russian champion is demanding that the European Football Union (UEFA) put pressure on the Swedes or move the championship from that country.

"Of course, I hope that UEFA will be principled, but when so many countries have said they will not play, it will be very difficult to do so. I hope that the U-17 women's Euro 2024 will be moved from Sweden. Lawlessness is being created, but we need to show our integrity. I don't even have words anymore, it's beyond the pale. On the positive side, I would like to note that UEFA wants to show that it supports Russia and wants us, for example, not to move to Asia," Mor said.

The day before, it became known that the national teams of England, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia and Poland announced a boycott of Russia, refusing to play with teams from Russia.
