Konoplyanka refused to play in Ukraine and chose a club abroad
Ukrainian midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka did not want to continue his career in "Alexandria" from the city of the same name and Zhytomyr "Polesie". According to Prosport, these clubs wanted to sign the 33-year-old former Ukrainian national team player as a free agent, but he refused.
Also Eugene was interested in Polish "Puszcza" Nepolomica, and several clubs in the United States and Saudi Arabia.
As a result, Konoplyanka chose Romanian CFR Cluj. The contract with the Ukrainian will be signed the other day, and his salary will not exceed 20,000 euros, which is not much different from the income of other players of the team.
Konoplyanka last played in Poland. In early 2022, Yevhen moved from Shakhtar to Krakowia, signing a contract until July 2023. At the end of the agreement, the Poles said they were not going to continue cooperation with Konoplyanka.
The former Yellow-Blue star played 38 matches for the Poles, in which he scored four goals and gave two assists.
