Ukrainian striker of Girona Artem Dovbyk has admitted that people in Spain have little understanding of what is happening in Ukraine and are not particularly interested in it. The 26-year-old Ukraine international shared his experience of communicating with locals about the war with Russia.
"Some people are somehow calm about it. They just don't understand what it's like. We used to talk about this topic... Vitya [Tsygankov] and I were asked... We explained it to them, and they were shocked and everything... But (he smiles sadly) after 15 minutes they were no longer interested. That's why I think that now everyone is forgetting about the war," Dovbyk said in an interview with the Sport Arena YouTube channel.
The Ukrainian forward added that he is not aware of any cases when any of Girona's players have helped Ukraine financially.
"No, I honestly don't know," Dovbyk said.
