"It's becoming an empty phrase": German fans demand not to let Dynamo attend Europa League matches

Hamburg fans oppose Dynamo Kyiv

Fans of German club Hamburg opposed the idea of Kyiv's Dynamo playing Europa League matches at their club's stadium. The fans justified this by saying that the Ukrainian team had previously been involved in racist scandals for which the European Football Union had fined them.

This is stated in a statement by Hamburg's ultras on their page on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. The fans of the German club demand that the Volksparkstadion not be rented to the Kyiv team, and they expect a public statement from the managers regarding this situation.

"In the case of Dynamo Kyiv, Hamburg is handing over its stadium to a club that has a history of racist and discriminatory behavior. Behavior that should never take place in our stadium. If we are serious about our values, then the Volksparkstadion should not be rented to clubs that do not stand for these values. "Love Hamburg - hate racism" becomes an empty phrase when a club that does not meet the basic concept plays home games at our stadium," the statement says.

"Dynamo is to play four nominally home Europa League matches in Hamburg - against Lazio (September 25), Ferencvaros (November 7), Victoria (November 28) and RFC (January 30).
