Yarmolenko addressed Russian athletes

Dynamo Kyiv legend Andriy Yarmolenko called on Russian athletes to agitate their friends who went to kill Ukrainians to surrender under the "I Want to Live" program. The captain of the national team noted that in this way, athletes from the Russian Federation would be able to bring their return to international competitions closer.

Yarmolenko said this in a special video message published on the YouTube channel "I Want to Live". The Dynamo midfielder noted that the tacit support of Russian athletes for the war in Ukraine has led to harsh sanctions against the aggressor country in the international arena.

"Russian athletes! If you want to return to world sport, and not go to competitions in various Somalis, it will also be useful for you to at least privately agitate your environment to surrender rather than go to slaughter in Ukraine. The longer you remain silent, the more likely it is that you will have to stay at home for the rest of your career, not seeing international competitions, or compete under the flag of some 404 state," Yarmolenko said.

He also called for the surrender of the Russian military, reminding that Ukraine adheres to humanitarian law and is ready to make an exchange at any time.

"Those Russians who have a sense of self-preservation, who want to live and do not want to become cannon fodder for the Kremlin grandfather, can turn to I Want to Live. This also applies to our compatriots from the occupied territories who are forced to fight in the occupation forces. If they contact Want to Live, they are guaranteed to be helped, transferred across the front line and taken into comfortable captivity in a specially safe place. All Ukrainians who have someone to turn to in the Russian Federation, campaign for surrender under the "I Want to Live" program," the footballer emphasized.
