The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has decided to host the 2030 World Cup in six countries. For the first time in football history, the World Cup will be held simultaneously on three continents.

The main matches will take place in Morocco, Portugal and Spain. Morocco was originally supposed to be Ukraine, but in March our country was excluded from the bid.

In addition, given the historical context of the 2030 World Cup, the FIFA Council unanimously agreed to hold the opening ceremony in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo, where the first FIFA World Cup was held in 1930.

Uruguay, as well as Argentina and Paraguay, will each host one home match of the 2030 World Cup. One of these three games will be played where it all began: at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, built specifically for the first FIFA World Cup.

"In 2030, we will have a unique global presence: three continents - Africa, Europe and South America - six countries - Argentina, Morocco, Paraguay, Portugal, Spain and Uruguay - welcoming and uniting the world, celebrating the beautiful game and the 100th anniversary of the FIFA World Cup together," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

FIFA also reminds that the national teams of these six countries automatically qualify for the 2030 World Cup.
