"I don't know a country where this is normal": Putin's decision was called a "disaster for all Russian sports"

The captain of the St. Petersburg "Zenit" Douglas Santos has been granted citizenship of the Russian terrorist state. The 30-year-old Brazilian footballer will now be able to play for the Russian national team, as he has only played for his home country's Olympic team.

The relevant decree was signed by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. Former "Zenit" coach Vlastimil Petrzela criticized the dictator's decision to grant Santos a passport in a commentary to Sport24 and called it "a disaster for all Russian sports."

"I don't like the fact that Santos received a Russian passport. I do not like this. Russian guys should play in the Russian national team. Why is there a Brazilian there? This is a disaster for Russian sports. Why would Russia give Santos a passport? I don't know a country where this is normal and foreign players play. Brazil, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and England don't have this. Everywhere there are only their own players. In Russia, it's different, but why?" said Petrzela.

Earlier, Russian midfielder Daniil Glebov, with his traditional sense of self-importance, accused the Pakistanis of disrespect.
