Former world champion from Russia lashes out at "gay Europe" and says more and more people are accepting "our light side"

Former world heavyweight champion Denis Lebedev has spoken out against the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which had previously expelled the International Boxing Federation (IBA) from its membership. The former athlete condemned the sanctions against the organisation, which is run by Russian Umar Kremlev, using propaganda clichés.

Lebedev said this in an interview with the Boxing TV YouTube channel. The native of Stary Oskol, who held the World Boxing Association (WBA) championship belt for six years, expressed confidence that Russia should create a new federation with "friendly countries".

"Sooner or later, all this will subside. As I say, the political froth will subside and everything will fall into place. More and more people in the world, in different countries, are coming to the light side, our side. You can see it. Everyone has the right to choose. They want to marry cats and dogs in gay Europe. This is their right. We are against it. We are going our own way. One solution is to create our own federation and invite all friendly countries," Lebedev said.

Earlier, the IBA became a laughingstock after it appealed to the IOC to be expelled from its membership. The IOC itself had previously responded harshly to IBA chairman Umar Kremlev, who had made aggressive statements and calls for violence. In addition, children were used in Russia to attack the IOC over the IBA decision.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, former world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev called the IBA's expulsion from the IOC a manifestation of "blatant Russophobic politics".
