Former Russian national team coach says "Russia does not want war" with Ukraine as it has "worn Europe out"

Former head coach of the Russian national hockey team Vladimir Krikunov has called Ukraine guilty of war with Russia, which "does not want to fight". The 2005 Russian champion said that in his homeland Latvia he is treated the same way as before the full-scale invasion began on February 24, adding that many people are tired of the situation in our country.

Krikunov said this in an interview with the Russian propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. According to him, Latvians treated him "well then and so it is now". At the same time, the former hockey player did not mention a word about the fact that the Baltic States are among Ukraine's most ardent fans in the war against Russian aggression.

"The attitude has not changed, just like in other countries where I have worked. Everyone has enough problems of their own, and the situation with Ukraine has probably bored a lot of people. After all, not everyone is stupid and understands where it all started. The Latvian ambassador to Poland asked me: "How do you feel about it?" I replied, "Who has a good attitude, who wants to go to war?" Russia certainly doesn't want to go to war. I have Latvians as my neighbors on the one hand and Russians on the other. We lived well then, so we do now," Krikunov said.

Earlier, legendary hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hašek responded to Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov, calling him responsible for the deaths of Ukrainians. Before that, the Russian demanded that the Czech return all the money Dominik earned while playing for Spartak Moscow.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Vyacheslav Fetisov suggested that Russians should play "for Syria or whatever" at the Olympics-2024.
