Fatal tragedy occurs in the family of the legendary Rafael Nadal

The father-in-law of the legendary Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, Mikel Pereleo, has died after a long illness, ultimahora.es reports. The father of Maria Francisco Pereleo, to whom the athlete was married, was 63 years old.

The 24-year-old Maria arrived at the funeral ceremony accompanied by her mother. Together they entered the cathedral in Manacora to say goodbye to Mikel for the last time.

Throughout his life, and especially since his daughter began dating Rafa in 2005, Pereleo, who worked in the construction business, preferred to stay in the shadows. Rafael and Hiska got married in 2019 in Mallorca. In October last year, the couple had a son, but then the tennis player's life was covered by a series of injuries.

Muscle injuries and joint pains have always been a constant in Rafael's sporting career, but recently injuries have prevented him from playing in major tournaments.
