Famous former Ukrainian national team player detained by TRC

The former midfielder of the Ukrainian national team, Ihor Kharatin, was detained by representatives of the territorial recruitment center in Zakarpattia region, sports blogger and former journalist Ihor Burbas reports on his Telegram channel. According to available information, the 29-year-old footballer was in a car with his family.

"The former player of the Ukrainian national football team was bused. According to my information, Ihor Kharatin was detained today by representatives of the TRC at a checkpoint near the city of Tiachiv," Burbas wrote.

The situation is already being dealt with by Kolos football club, for which Kharatin plays. In the summer, the midfielder was transferred by the head coach to the second team, which could have probably saved him from being drafted.

The details of the incident are being clarified.

Ihor Kharatin was born in Mukachevo and started playing football at the local team FC Mukachevo. At the age of nine, he moved to Kyiv, where he was selected for the Dynamo Academy.

Under the guidance of coaches Oleksii Drotsenko and Oleksandr Shpakov, he played as a central defender, but later became a midfielder.

As a member of Dynamo's youth teams, he won the Ukrainian championship three times and received individual awards. In March 2013, he signed a professional contract with the club and made his debut for the first team in May 2014.

In 2016, Kharatin joined Metalist on loan and later became a player of Zoria Luhansk. At Zoria, he quickly became a key player, proving himself on the international stage in Europa League matches.

In 2018, the footballer signed a contract with Hungarian club Ferencvaros, where he became a member of the starting lineup and became a three-time national champion (2019, 2020, 2021).

From 2010 to 2014, Kharatin played for Ukraine's youth national teams of all ages. Throughout his career, his professionalism and versatility allowed him to play successfully both in Ukraine and abroad.
