Yarmolenko signs contract with Dynamo

Ukraine national team captain Andriy Yarmolenko has officially returned to Dynamo Kyiv, from which he left for Borussia Dortmund in 2017. The 33-year-old footballer, who spent the last season in the Emirati Al Ain, signed a two-year contract with the capital's club.

This is stated on the official website of Dynamo. Apparently, Yarmolenko will play for the team under the number 10 shirt. According to media reports, at the end of his career, Andriy will be promoted to the position of the club's sporting director, and his salary will be around one million dollars.

"Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu was one of the initiators of Andriy's return home and wanted this transfer to be completed last winter. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the signing of the contract with Yarmolenko had to be postponed until the summer. I am sure that with Andriy we would have achieved much more in the second part of last season," commented Kyiv president Ihor Surkis.

Yarmolenko joined Dynamo as a free agent. He is a product of Chernihiv football. Andriy made his debut for the Kyiv team in May 2008. In total, he played 340 matches for Dynamo, scoring 137 goals in all competitions, and is among the top 4 top scorers in the club's history.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Dynamo Kyiv president Ihor Surkis frankly answered the question about the ultimatum to last season's best player Vitaliy Buyalsky.
