World No. 3 Novak Djokovic won the French Open tennis tournament. Defeating Norwegian Kasper Ruud (#4 WTA) 7-6 (7-1), 6-3, 7-5, the 36-year-old Belgrade native surpassed Rafael Nadal as the winner of most Grand Slam tournaments, becoming the sole record holder.
Djokovic now has 23 Slams, the all-time record of world tennis: 3 Roland Garros, 3 US Open, 7 Wimbledon and 10 Australian Open.
The final match of Roland Garros-2023 lasted 3 hours and 16 minutes. In the first set the Norwegian easily led 4-1, but Novak managed to catch up with his opponent and bring it to a winning tie-break.
