"Cannibals are cannibals". State Duma throws a tantrum after UEFA's decision on Russia

Milonov commented on the ban of the Russian national team

Russian State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov threw a typical tantrum after the Russian national football team was banned from the UEFA Nations League for the 2024/2025 season. The day before, UEFA decided to exclude the Russian team from the draw.

"Do they think we will give up and put our paws up? This news was to be expected. Cannibals are cannibals. There is nothing to be surprised about. But this is a sign of weakness. They could ritually defeat us and then say that they rolled the Russians in football, to show their power. But they want to win in an unsportsmanlike way. This is not a victory, this is cowardice," Milonov said in an interview with RB Sport.

Such words of the parliamentarian caused mockery from Russian fans. The fans clarify what kind of cannibals Milonov is talking about.

"Cannibals? Isn't he talking about those whom Putin personally pardoned and released from prison as part of his concern for improving the quality of life of the population?" the fans write.

Fans are also wondering why Milonov is so hysterical when Russian officials have previously said that sanctions are only good for them.
