Ukraine's national football team will get a new head coach for the June qualifiers for the 2024 European Championship. The coach will replace Ruslan Rotan and lead the team to the meetings with Malta ( June 16) and North Macedonia ( June 19).

The president of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Pavelko wrote about this on his Facebook page. He also announced that the country's national team will play a friendly match with the four-time world champions, the Germans, on June 12.

"The national team of Ukraine will play a friendly match with the German national team on June 12 in Bremen at the Weserstadion. This will be the 1000th match in history for the four-time world champions and three-time European champions - the German team. For the UAF and the national team of Ukraine, it will be a very honourable mission to jointly celebrate the 1000th match. The new head coach, who will be introduced at the time agreed with him, will already be preparing the national team of Ukraine for the control match with Germany and the next qualifying matches for Euro 2024," Pavelko said.

Earlier, the UAF published a response from the country's Ministry of Sports regarding the team's participation in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, which also includes Belarus.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the head coach of the Emirati club Al Ain Serhiy Rebrov urged not to speculate on his name because of rumours about his work in the Ukrainian national team.
