Urgent need to see a doctor! 16 body signals that cannot be ignored: indicate big problems

Some seemingly insignificant symptoms that are often ignored can indicate problems in the body. It is important to notice them in time and see a doctor, get tested, and undergo diagnostics to pinpoint the problem and fix it.

Taras Zhyravetskyi, a Ukrainian doctor and medical advisor to the mayor of Lviv, spoke about the conditions to pay attention to on his Facebook page. According to him, the human body is a very intelligent system, because"when various diseases occur, it tries to help us understand their causes."

"Even small and imperceptible changes in the functioning of various systems can indicate very serious problems of internal organs," the expert wrote.

1. Dry mouth

According to Zhyravetskyi this symptom can be a reaction to stress and anxiety.

If the dryness persists and you notice that you have become more irritable, you may be lacking vitamin B3 (nicotinic acid). It is found in poultry, nuts, beef, and sprouted wheat germ.

Dry mouth may also indicate diabetes mellitus or systemic diseases (Sjogren's syndrome).

2. Blue spots on the skin

This indicates problems with blood clotting or liver function. To find out the cause, you need to get tested. You can start with a complete blood count, which is an important indicator of platelets.

3. Swollen eyelids

If this is accompanied by a feeling of general weakness, cold and pale skin, the problem may be "hiding" in the kidneys, heart, thyroid gland. Dermatomyositis is not excluded.

4. Frequent nosebleeds

This may be due to high blood pressure or vitamin K deficiency.

"You'll have to eat cabbage, spinach, and nettle soup and get checked by a cardiologist," Zhyravetskyi wrote.

5. Chapped lips

If, along with this symptom, you notice muscle weakness in the corners of your mouth, problems with concentration, hair loss, then your body lacks vitamin B2 (riboflavin).

Dairy products, eggs, peanuts, peaches, soybeans, pears, tomatoes, and cauliflower can help replenish B2. In addition, such problems often occur with ascariasis and candidiasis.

6. White coating on the tongue

Zhyravetskyi noted that in this case, you are either hungry, or have a cold, or you have candidiasis. But if the edges of the tongue are reddened along with the white coating, this may indicate gastritis.

7. Pale gray coating on the tongue

Most likely, this is a disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. Additional symptoms, such as slight swelling of the lips and dry skin, indicate a lack of iron. Black coffee and tea interfere with its absorption, so you need to reduce the consumption of these drinks. The doctor also advises eating more parsley, liver, fish, porcini mushrooms, apples, and citrus fruits. You can have a blood test to determine iron levels.

8. Bad breath (halitosis)

This phenomenon may indicate gastrointestinal problems, diabetes, kidney, dental, or liver problems (ammonia odor), bronchitis (putrid odor). It also happens when you drink low-quality, cheap coffee.

9. Peeling skin

It is possible that the body lacks vitamins A and B2, which can be corrected with a good diet. However, if the peeling is accompanied by severe itching, you should consult a doctor, as it may be a symptom of an allergy or a fungal infection.

10. Painful sensitivity of the eyes to bright light

Zhyravetskyi called it "payback for alcohol and tobacco abuse." Sometimes it can be a symptom of pollenosis, an allergy to plant blossoms (in this case, you need to analyze the concentration of total IgE in the blood serum). You may lack vitamin A, in which case you need to eat more cottage cheese, carrots, and tomatoes.

Enlarged lymph nodes indicate that there is an inflammatory process in the body and you need to look for the cause. It is also a symptom of blood diseases, in which case you should visit a hematologist.

11. Dark urine

This is the body's reaction if you drink too little fluid. However, if such a symptom is accompanied by high fever and weakness, serious diseases of the genitourinary system are not excluded. A urologist or nephrologist will help you understand this, and the diagnosis can begin with a general urine test.

12. Slow wound healing

This is a symptom of zinc deficiency. To make up for its deficiency, you need to eat more seafood and legumes.

It also often occurs in diabetes mellitus and autoimmune diseases.

13. Discoloration of the whites of the eyes, bruising and dark circles under the eyes

If your eyes are red, it may happen due to high blood pressure. If they turn yellow, the liver is not working properly.

Proper rest will help to cope with bruises or dark circles that appear due to fatigue and lack of sleep. If the problem is not fatigue, you can get checked by a cardiologist to rule out heart problems.

14. Excessive sweating

The doctor advises to check the thyroid gland. If excessive sweating is observed at night, this is a sign of nervous exhaustion.

15. Pimples and blackheads on the face

Small and slightly red pimples on the cheeks can be a symptom of allergies. White "pustules" on the cheeks indicate intestinal problems.

Acne on the temples is a symptom of liver or gallbladder problems. It is best to consult a doctor.

Red acne on the chin and lower jaw is a symptom of disorders in the production of sex hormones or inflammation and infections of the genitourinary system. Zhyravetskyi believes that in this case, a visit to a doctor is mandatory.

Rashes on the forehead or part of the head covered with hair are a signal of stomach problems. You can spend fasting days on each of these foods: kefir, juice, buckwheat, rice, cucumbers, or any fruit. A consultation with a gastroenterologist will help clarify the problem.

16. Edema

Swelling can be the result of eating foods that retain water in the body: salty foods, alcohol, carbohydrate-rich foods, canned and smoked foods.

"Renal" swelling appears on the face in the morning and disappears in the evening. As a rule, they are pale, loose, and retain a pressure mark for a long time.

"Cardiac" edema appears in the late afternoon in the abdomen, lower back, and genitals. Other symptoms may also appear: shortness of breath, blueness of the lips, fingers and toes, swelling of the cervical veins.

"Hepatic" edema appears in the abdomen with spider veins, itching and yellowish skin in the area of edema. If the swelling is red and itchy, it is an allergic reaction.

If your joints hurt, you may have gout (you need to have a uric acid blood test) or even a serious autoimmune disease. While the manifestations of gout can be corrected by diet, systemic autoimmune diseases can only be controlled by a rheumatologist.

"The sooner you get help, get diagnosed, the sooner you can eliminate the cause of the imbalance in your body and regain your lost health!" Zhyravetskyi summarized.
