The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine has officially approved the composition of the Council for the Restoration of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt." The first meeting of the Council will be held on Tuesday, August 20, when all members will gather to discuss the next steps.

This was announced by Health Minister Viktor Lyashko. The Council includes representatives of charitable organizations that have made the largest contributions to support the hospital, as well as representatives of international technical projects, diplomatic missions, intergovernmental organizations and foundations, NGOs, and, of course, representatives of the Ministry of Health and Okhmatdyt.

In particular, the board consists of 15 members, including:

  • Jaco Silier, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine.
  • Donatas Butkus, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine.
  • Ihor Katsitadze, Health Specialist at UNICEF Ukraine.
  • Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo.
  • Nazar Kupybida, member of the Board of Directors, Vice President for Finance at Concern GALNAFTOGAZ JSC.
  • Yulia Vysotska, Director of PJSC "Research and Production Association "PRACTIKA".
  • Yevhen Gonchar, Head of the Policy Formation Unit for the Medical Guarantees and Medical Care Program, Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
  • Olena Larina, a leading specialist in internal control at Okhmatdyt.
  • Vyacheslav Bykov, member of the Board, Executive Director of the Tabletochki Charitable Foundation.
  • Oleksandr Sushko, Executive Director of the International Renaissance Foundation.
  • Inna Ivanenko, Executive Director of the CF "Patients of Ukraine".
  • Taras Lylyk, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors for Expert Organizations of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine.
  • Svitlana Reva, Vice President of the Interstate Guild of Consultant Engineers.
  • Maryna Mamenko, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Academy of Pediatric Specialties.
  • Natalia Onipko, President and Founder of the Charitable Foundation "Zaporuka".

As a reminder, Health Minister Viktor Liashko has appointed an acting director of Okhmatdyt. This is Oleksandr Urin, who until recently worked at the hospital as the head of the intensive and efferent therapy department for acute intoxication.

Okhmatdyt's General Director Volodymyr Zhovnir was suspended from his position for the duration of the checks conducted by law enforcement agencies regarding the actions of the Okhmatdyt Charitable Foundation.

The charitable foundation, which raised money to restore the Okhmatdyt hospital after the Russian missile attack, refused to transfer the funds raised to the medical institution. Therefore, the hospital director accused the foundation of dishonesty and warned of plans to terminate the contract with the organization.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Health canceled the tenders under which it was planned to spend UAH 14 million to restore the roof of Okhmatdyt. This happened after the CF "Okhmatdyt" chose a little-known company that has one of the most expensive prices for repairs as the winner of the tender.

"They want to restore Okhmatdyt before the cold weather sets in. The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine will propose to the Supervisory Board to approve such terms.
