The last day of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra: about 300 believers gathered at the monastery, some are not going to leave
On Wednesday, March 29, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) started gathering at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in the morning. On this day, the monks of the Moscow Patriarchate must leave the territory of the reserve for good.

In the morning, the faithful of the UOC-MP began to gather at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to attend the morning service in one of the churches. At the entrance to the reserve are police officers who monitor law and order and do not prevent people from entering the territory of the historical and cultural reserve.
As of 9.20 a.m., about 300 faithful had gathered near one of the churches - some of them said they would not leave the territory of the Lavra. The Kyiv police told that the situation is calm at the moment, and there has been no information about conflicts or provocations.
Recall, the monks of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate started to collect and actively remove things from the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. For this purpose, they use trucks and react aggressively to journalists.

- On March 10, the national reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" announced the termination of the lease agreement with the male monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Its representatives must leave the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra by March 29.
- Since March 21, monks and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate have been banned from entering the caves of the Kyiv Cave Monastery. It is explained that the commission of the Ministry of Culture is assessing the preservation of cultural property.
- On March 20, members of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate came to the Office of the President. They stated their intention to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy to "convey their position to the state leadership."
- Metropolitan Epiphanius, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, appealed to the brethren of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the public. He called to facilitate the process of liberation of the monastery complex "from the Moscow yoke" and assured them that they would be protected from intimidation by the current head of the monastery.
