ZNPP restored power supply from the main high-voltage line

Zaporizhzhia NPP restored power supply via the main 750 kV external line. It is currently connected to two lines.

This was announced on the air of the national telethon by Petro Kotin, President of SE NNEGC Energoatom. He reminded that after the loss of power from the main external power line on 4 July, ZNPP switched to partial blackout mode until all power units were powered from the backup line (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

Then the plant had to be switched to the only available 330 kV backup line, which was repaired and reconnected to the plant only on 1 July, and the damaged line was repaired four months ago.

"Now the power supply to the plant has been restored and today it is powered by two lines, one 750 kV and the other 330 kV," Kotin said.

As a reminder, the loss of power to ZNPP from the main high-voltage line on 4 July was essential for the supply of external electricity needed by the plant to cool the reactor and other important nuclear safety and security functions.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi noted that the situation with the power supply at the site remains extremely unstable and difficult.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Energodar plant has lost all external electricity seven times, forcing it to temporarily use emergency diesel generators to generate electricity.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- local residents reported that there were fewer Russian troops in the city. However, even so, the situation at ZNPP has not changed;

- judging by the pictures taken by Planet Labs, new objects have appeared on the roof of the fourth power unit of ZNPP. Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that it had been mined by the occupiers;

- At the same time, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the threat of a Russian terrorist attack on Zaporizhzhia NPP is gradually decreasing.
