In Kherson region water has broken away from three thousand homes: rescuers and utility workers are carrying out restoration work
On the right bank of the Kherson region, as of June 21 (the 16th day of eliminating the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion by the occupants), water has receded from more than 3,100 homes. Restoration work is beginning on these areas.
Explosive technicians are searching for mines and other dangerous objects, specialists are repairing damaged communications, and utility workers and rescuers are removing debris and pumping water out of flooded premises. This was reported by the head of the Kherson regional state administration Oleksandr Prokudin in Telegram (to see the video, scroll to the end of the page).
The official assured that everyone works "from morning till late at night, so that Kherson region as quickly as possible recovered from the Russian terrorist attack".
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko said that the leadership of the Ministry of Social Policy will be present in the affected areas on June 22. The ministry will work on the process of informing the population about the compensation mechanism for the losses that the residents of the south suffered as a result of the man-made disaster.
Klimenko noted that the Ostrov neighborhood is being cleared of mines. "The work is complicated by the fact that in some areas where the water has already descended, a rather high layer of silt has remained - from 30 to 70 centimeters", - said in the report.
The interior minister added that specialists are cleaning the streets, fixing transformer substations, running the gas supply and public transport.
"We will return peaceful life not only on the territory of Kherson districts. We will return peaceful life soon to the territory of our entire state," the Interior Ministry concluded.
As OBOZREVATEL:
- Earlier, Prokudin said that already five communities in the Kherson region after the occupants undermined the Kakhovka hydropower plant have difficulties with access to water.
- The National Resistance Center said that according to preliminary data, more than 500 civilians have died as a result of the disaster in the town of Oleshki on the left bank of the Kherson region alone. This has not been officially confirmed.
