The Horevych family from Ternopil region sent five sons to defend Ukraine

All five sons of the Horevych family, who live in the Ternopil region, went to defend Ukraine. Unfortunately, one of them died – in January 2024, his parents buried Oleksandr.

War veterans Oleh and Ivan returned to their native Pochaiv, having been released from service for health reasons. Anatoliy and Ruslan continue to defend Ukraine in different areas. According to their father Vasyl Horevych, Ivan went to war as a volunteer.

"The photo shows my eldest son Ruslan, Tolik, Sasha, and Oleh. Ivan, who volunteered because all the other boys had received calls. And he said: "How come? I'm going too," says the father.

The soldiers' mother, Uliana Horevych, could not accept her sons' choice. "I will be very happy that my children will come home alive and healthy. At least four of them, one of whom was killed, will come home. And those who are hiding, I want to tell them that they are not Ukrainians. They probably don't love their country," the woman said.

Ruslan, the eldest son, has been fighting since 2014. "He was in the ATO and is now in a full-scale war. He was awarded these decorations during the ATO and now," said the mother, showing the awards.

Oleksandr, who was buried in late January, would have turned 50 in August. Ulyana Horevych keeps the last message from her son. The parents visit their son's grave every day.

At the end of January, Oleksandr was going on vacation, but he didn't make it. "The best dad. He really wanted to come home. He had already taken tickets for January 31. He said he would come home soon," his eldest daughter Halyna laments.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, a junior sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ivan Pasichnyk from Ivano-Frankivsk region was killed in battles with the enemy in Zaporizhzhia region. He was a combat medic.

While undergoing rehabilitation after being wounded at the front, the life of National Guard soldier Taras Herasymovych from Ivano-Frankivsk region was cut short. The 32-year-old soldier was seriously injured in the battles near Kreminna last spring.
