The benefits of green tea can be underestimated

Much has been said about the need for a healthy and balanced diet. And it is indeed important, because it is from food that we get most of our vitamins, minerals and nutrients. However, the drinks we consume throughout our lives deserve no less attention. Thus, the benefits of ordinary green tea may be underestimated. It is now known that this favourite drink of many people can prevent age-related changes and prevent the development of diseases.

Modern medical science is constantly searching for new therapeutic solutions and analysing the relationship between lifestyle and food with the risk of developing diseases. Professor Michael Ristow spoke about the latest findings on the benefits of green tea in an interview with Medical News.

As a fan of green tea, Professor Ristow and a group of scientists decided to test the drink's impact on health and life extension.

The study found that regular consumption of green tea can have numerous benefits, such as lowering systolic blood pressure and blood glucose levels, as well as helping to reduce weight in people with type II diabetes and obese women.

In addition, scientists have found that green tea polyphenols do not have an antioxidant effect, but they improve the body's defences. Earlier, Professor Ristow's research team had already proven the positive effect on the immune system of physical activity and reducing calorie intake by increasing oxidative stress in the body. Today, scientists claim that green tea has a similar effect.

To achieve the therapeutic effect and prevent possible harm to the body, the scientist advises to consume green tea in moderation and avoid extracts and concentrates.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL told you about the extraordinary property of the familiar drink. Recent studies show that green tea can reduce the risk of stroke by 62%.
