KJF-2024: Advisor to the President of Ukraine says that "America First" and support for Ukraine are the same thing

The political position of "America First" declared by Donald Trump's team and the continued support of Ukraine during the war with Russia are actually the same thing. This opinion was expressed during the Fifth Kyiv Jewish Forum by Andrew Mac, Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Head of the Asters Law Firm office in Washington.

"If you are a supporter of the slogan 'Make America great again,' then you support Ukraine in this war, regardless of whether you are an old-school Republican or a new Republican. I don't think anyone in the Trump team wants Russia to win. No one," Mac said.

According to him, there is a debate within Trump's team about how the United States can help Ukraine win, but President Trump is personally very committed to ending this war on terms that will allow Ukraine to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace.

"There is a very good relationship between President Trump and the Ukrainian side," the adviser informed. At the same time, Mac states that there is tremendous bipartisan support in the United States for both Ukraine and Israel, but it is clear that Israel has much deeper ties to both parties and the establishment than Ukraine.

"Israel has a special place in the American politics and in the American mentality. Ukraine is now beginning to take that place," Mac thinks.

However, he is confident that Ukraine will continue its struggle and will not accept peace on terms that do not secure its future. Mac reminded that Ukraine shocked the world with its resistance, in particular, by almost destroying Russia's Black Sea Fleet without having its own navy.

"President Trump considers himself a much stronger leader than the current president. He will not play around, and Putin knows it," Mac said.

Kyiv Jewish Forum is taking place for the fifth year in a row. This year, it is held online, and Washington, D.C. is the central venue. The Kyiv Jewish Forum is organized by the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine and by The Jerusalem Post.

Let's recall that during opening of the forum, JCU President and Vice President of the World Jewish Congress Boris Lozhkin emphasized that Ukrainians and Israelis have high hopes for the return of the administration, which has previously demonstrated its determination to help both Ukraine and Israel.
