A monument to the Soviet military, which stood in Vynnyky, was demolished in Lviv. The monument will be moved to the Museum of Totalitarian Regimes.
This was announced by the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi on July 15. The mayor's official Telegram channel also published a video of the dismantling (to watch it, scroll to the end of the news).
"Another monument of the Soviet era was dismantled. This time it is the Soviet 'Warrior' that stood in Vynnyky," Sadovyi said.
He noted that the sculpture was made at the Lviv experimental ceramic-sculpture factory.
It will now be moved to the Territory of Terror Memorial Museum of Totalitarian Regimes.
The monument is dedicated to the Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Vynnyky town from the Nazi occupiers in July 1944.
As you know, Vynnyky is subordinate to Lviv Town Hall as part of the Lychakivskyi district of Lviv.
