MP Khrystenko rented an apartment in Poland 5 days before the start of a full-scale war

Fedir Khrystenko, an MP from the now-banned Opposition Platform – For Life (OPFL) party, who left Ukraine on the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion, has an apartment in Moscow. However, for some reason, he decided to live in Poland rather than Russia.

He rented a 173-square-meter apartment there, where he lives with his family. This is reported by the Radio Liberty project "Schemes" with reference to the State Register of Declarations and a source with access to the border crossing database.

In his declaration for 2022, the fugitive MP noted that he rented housing in Poland on February 19. Khrystenko rents the apartment with his wife and daughter. The exact address of their apartment is not specified in the declaration, but according to media reports, it may be a house on Sarmacka Street in an upscale neighborhood of Warsaw. In August 2022, three cars registered to Khrystenko's wife were spotted near it: BMW M760LI, Bentley Continental, and Porsche Cayenne, which the MP also declared.

Next to this apartment, the declaration also lists a 176-square-meter apartment in Moscow with an estimated value of more than 100 million rubles (about $1 million). It has been registered in the name of the MP's wife, Marina Khristenko, since 2018.

The border crossing database shows that Khristenko left Ukraine exactly 10 days before the start of the full-scale war. He took off from Boryspil on February 14, 2022, and has not returned since, having settled in Poland.

It is also worth noting that in 2022, the MP declared only 42 thousand hryvnias of his deputy salary. This is probably due to the fact that the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada called Khrystenko one of the biggest absenteeists, which is why they stopped paying him.

We would like to add that the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk previously explained that it is impossible to deprive a deputy of his mandate for absenteeism.
