Out of eleven points proposed by the Hungarian side, five issues were agreed upon. This became known following an online meeting where the Ukrainian and Hungarian delegations discussed ways to address the main issues on the bilateral agenda.

This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, who headed the Ukrainian delegation. The Hungarian delegation was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto.

In addition to them, the meeting was attended by: Vice Prime Ministers Olha Stefanishyna and Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Heads of the OP Ihor Zhovkva and Olena Kovalska, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Yevhen Kudriavets, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebiinis, Head of the Subcommittee on Higher Education of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Yulia Hryshyna, Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Viktor Mykyta, and Head of the State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience Viktor Yelenskyi.

The report notes that the parties agreed on the previously developed positions on national communities.

"Discussions are ongoing, but the work will be completed as soon as possible," Andrii Yermak said.

In addition, he noted significant progress in expanding logistics and transportation capabilities at the common border.

"Trucks will be allowed to cross the Luzhanka-Beregsurany checkpoint without weight restrictions this month. In addition, a new checkpoint Velyka Palad-Nagyhodos will be opened to reduce queues on the border with Hungary," the head of the OP emphasized.

According to him, new prospects in social, economic, infrastructure and other areas will give both countries the opportunity to become richer and stronger.

"Joint working groups have been formed in each of the areas to look for effective solutions to problematic issues," Yermak summarized.

As reported, on Wednesday, April 3, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto in Brussels. According to the Foreign Minister, the meeting was lengthy.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto admitted that Budapest was blackmailing Kyiv with the rights of Hungarians in Zakarpattia. That is why "at some point in the future," when the meeting promised by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban between him and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was to take place, will not happen.
