Moscow is trying to disrupt the Peace Summit in Switzerland

So far, delegations from more than 100 countries have confirmed their intention to participate in the Peace Summit in Switzerland, which starts on June 15. However, Russia is making every effort to disrupt the event.

Moreover, several countries are helping the aggressor state in this. This statement was made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the Shangri-La Dialogue conference in Singapore on Sunday, June 2.

According to the head of state, Kyiv has already received confirmation of participation in the Peace Summit in Switzerland from 106 countries, which will be represented at the event at the level of leaders or high representatives. At the same time, Zelenskyy stated that as the summit approaches, Russia is stepping up its efforts to disrupt it, resorting, in particular, to threats and blackmail.

"Today, Russia is traveling to many countries around the world, threatening to blockade food, agricultural products or chemicals, energy prices, or simply putting pressure on other countries not to attend the summit," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the president added that several countries help Moscow in the disruption of the Peace Summit.

"And so, when you ask what the world can do today, the world must be strong and put political pressure on Russia. There is no other way to stop Putin, only diplomatic isolation, a strong Ukrainian army, and the understanding of all countries of the world not to balance between Ukraine and Russia but to defend justice and international law," Zelenskyy said.

According to the Head of State, after the start of Russia's full-scale aggression, the world did not allow Ukraine to be destroyed, and now, Zelenskyy hopes, it will take the next step: through diplomacy and in accordance with the UN Charter, the international community will help to stop the war fairly.

"The united world has given confidence that Ukraine is not alone against an aggressor who violates international law," the president emphasized, expressing gratitude to all those states that have helped and are helping "some with weapons, some diplomatically, some with humanitarian efforts."

"They gave their last money just to show that they are on the right side, that they are on the side of truth. And it seems to me that this is the most important thing that the world has done," Zelenskyy added.

Now, the president insists, it is very important not to let Russia disrupt the Peace Summit.

"Ukraine has offered peace through diplomacy, an inclusive and fair form of the Global Peace Summit. And I invite your region, your leaders, your countries to join, so that your peoples are involved. And by uniting against one war, we are creating a real experience for the world, the experience of overcoming any war and diplomacy that works," the head of state said.

Zelenskyy also noted that the current format of the Global Peace Summit was brought about by "Ukraine's experience in restoring effective diplomacy."

"We are convinced that our world wants to be united and able to act in complete harmony. We have realized that countries equally reject the idea that someone secretly makes decisions and imposes them. An open and inclusive dialog is needed. We have confirmed that the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and international conventions are fully relevant," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the Head of State is convinced that the broad participation of the international community will help ensure the actual implementation of the agreements reached and give Russia no choice but to stop the brutal war it has unleashed against Ukraine.

Participants of the first Peace Summit will focus on discussing three of the ten points of the Peace Formula presented by Ukraine, namely nuclear and food security, as well as the release of prisoners of war and Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. The number of underage Ukrainians "stolen by Putin, kidnapped and taken to Russia" is now at least 20,000.

At the same time, Zelenskyy expressed disappointment that some world leaders have not yet confirmed their participation in the peace summit.

"We don't want to believe that this is a desire for monopoly power in the world: to deprive the world community of the opportunity to make decisions about war and peace and leave this power in the hands of one or two," he said.

At the same time, he emphasized that he believes in the restoration of diplomacy, in coalitions to support Ukraine, which unite countries with different characters and worldviews.

"Diplomacy works when it is truly aimed at protecting life. Together with our partners, we are protecting life and the rules-based world order," Zelenskyy emphasized.
