If you've bought a used car in the last three years or so, you probably know that there's been a price spike in this market. The coronavirus pandemic disrupted the supply of new cars, and by 2023, used cars were holding their value better than in 2019.

According to the authors of finance.yahoo.com, before the pandemic, the average car lost about 50% of its value in five years, today it is about 39%. At the same time, cars lose 20% of their value in the first year, and about 40% in the five-year perspective. But of all the models, there are ten that lose the least in value.

Porsche 911

Porsche topped the list of cars that lose value the slowest. Over five years, the price of the 911 model loses only about 9% of its value. This indicates an incredibly high demand for this car in the used car market.

Porsche 718 Cayman

Next on the Porsche list is the 718 Cayman, which did not perform as well as the 911. In the five-year perspective, it has lost 18% of its value. And this is still a very strong result.

Toyota Tacoma

Recent estimates show that the Tacoma has lost only about 20% of its value in five years. This is due to the high demand for sports cars, small SUVs, and inexpensive fuel-efficient cars that is currently observed.

Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler and the Wrangler Unlimited have lost about 21% of their value in five years. During the pandemic-era quarantine, automakers saw an increase in demand for more interesting cars, and this demand remains high.

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic in both sedan and hatchback versions is ranked fifth on the list. Over five years, it has lost about 22% of its value, which is quite a decent result.

Subaru BRZ

The compact sports coupe from Subaru is slightly behind. It lost about 23% of its value over the five-year period.

Chevrolet Camaro

The Chevrolet Camaro took eighth place in the ranking of cars that lose the least in value. This car has fallen in price by 24% over five years.

Toyota C-HR

A similar result was demonstrated by a compact crossover from the Japanese automaker. Over five years, the Toyota C-HR has fallen in price by 24% and a bit.

Subaru Crosstrek

Another Subaru - this time the Crosstrek - also made the top list. In five years, it has lost about 25% of its value.

Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla completes the list. In a five-year perspective, the model loses about 25% of its value, almost the same as the Crosstrek.
