These cars offer a holistic driving experience in addition to power and speed

For many people, a car is a means of transportation from point A to point B. But no driver will deny that driving pleasure is not the least of their considerations when choosing a model.

Especially for this purpose, the experts of the British Car Buyer magazine have compiled a list of ten cars that will please even the most demanding driver. The list includes both luxury models developed by the best engineers for the most demanding customers and mass-produced cars.

Mazda MX-5

Introduced in 1989, the sports model is hardly the fastest or most powerful car on the road. But the MX-5 is perfectly responsive, even at speed, has great roadholding and looks great. The two-seat interior and tiny trunk may be drawbacks for some buyers, but for enthusiasts looking for simple driving pleasure, the MX-5 is hard to beat.

BMW M2

The BMW 2 Series is already a sophisticated and nimble sports coupe, but it is the full-size BMW M2 that fully embodies the brand's slogan "Ultimate Driving Machine". It's a pleasure to drive thanks to its compact dimensions, six-cylinder engine with 453 hp and responsive chassis. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available. This is one of the best all-around cars with this level of driver comfort.

Honda Civic Type R

The updated Civic Type R has a less distinctive, but more refined appearance. However, the same hot heart remains underneath the bodywork as before. Its 325 hp is transmitted to the front wheels. Most of the suspension and brake components are borrowed from the old generation, but they have been refined to perfection to ensure maximum driving pleasure. This is also supported by one of the best manual shifts you can find in any car. And with the Civic Type R, you get five seats, a large trunk, and decent fuel economy.

Toyota GR Yaris

Few would have predicted that Toyota would break into the hot hatchback market in 2020 with a true rally car, but the GR Yaris has done just that. It was designed from the start for a special driving experience. Thanks to its three-cylinder engine with 276 hp and all-wheel drive, the GR Yaris has a distinctive fighting character despite its tiny size. Drivers can adjust the power distribution between the front and rear wheels on the fly, providing a wide range of capabilities on different road surfaces. And precise steering makes the Yaris an ideal choice even on bad roads.

Alpine A110

The model with a powerful 1.8-liter engine is an alternative to the Porsche 718 Cayman or Audi TT RS. Both in terms of character and appearance. It is the lightest car in its class, which allowed engineers to soften the suspension without sacrificing body control. This is best felt on bad roads. The Alpine A110 provides an excellent balance between the thrill of highway speed and everyday usability in the city.

Porsche 718 Boxster

Soon the 718 will be fully electric. But that doesn't mean it will be any less fun to drive. Thanks to its perfectly balanced mid-engine chassis, a wide range of engines and the choice of a manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission, the 718 Boxster satisfies the tastes of all driving styles. All 718 Boxster trim levels feature responsive steering and excellent chassis dynamics.

Cupra Formentor

This model proves that even a family SUV can deliver a driving experience like a sports roadster. The Cupra Formentor has impressive handling and will delight its owner with a 306 hp engine and all-wheel drive in the most powerful configuration. However, the lineup also includes models with front-wheel drive and less powerful engines, including a hybrid, which are not inferior to the older model in terms of driving experience.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

There are several sports electric vehicles on the market today, each boasting stunning acceleration performance or record lap times, but the Ioniq 5 N is different - it has a clear focus on driving pleasure. In this case, the model prioritizes overall handling over speed. However, this does not mean that the Ioniq 5 N is not fast - with 641 hp, it will gladly overtake many sports cars in acceleration to 100 km/h.

Toyota GR86

The long-awaited successor to the Toyota GT86 has nice steering and agility, making it one of the few sports cars available that can compete with the Mazda MX-5. The 2.4-liter gasoline engine produces 231 liters without turbocharging, which is unusual for today's market. A manual transmission is also standard and creates the feeling of an old-school car with all the advantages of a newer model.

Porsche 911

For many, this model is an absolute classic sports car with the perfect balance of handling, performance and convenience. And over time, these qualities have only improved, and the price tag has grown with them. But every dollar spent on a 911 is well spent. It's easy to get lost in the huge range of 911 models on offer, from Carreras to Targas, Turbos and GT3s, but each is equally enjoyable and exciting to drive. No matter what you choose, you will find yourself driving one of the best sports cars.
