A vacation with friends is a special event for every girl. This is a carefree time with a loved one who accepts you completely, which you always want to fill with bright events that will become fond memories.

However, it is not always possible to find at least a full week for such a vacation. And often girls try to organize at least a weekend together. Woman and Home magazine told about the best places to go on a short trip with your friends. We have chosen interesting, but not the most touristy destinations.

Marrakech, Morocco

While Europe is suffering from tourists, this African country is happy to receive new visitors. Marrakech is a great option for a spring or fall trip, as it's warm but not hot. The city's luxury hotels offer excellent accommodations and luxury spas with hammams. Be sure to visit the local markets, where you can find many beautiful home items and souvenirs.

Berlin, Germany

It's a great city choice if you're looking for interesting history, beautiful sights, and bustling energy. Berlin's well-developed public transportation system makes it easy and affordable to get from point A to point B. And don't miss the many trendy chocolate shops that offer delicious snacks to take home to treat your loved ones.

Edinburgh, Scotland

You can get to Edinburgh and back by train, which is fashionable now because it's an environmentally friendly mode of transportation. Besides, it allows you to extend your weekend – you can work on Friday and Monday using the Wi-Fi in the carriage. Be sure to check out the city's sights – the historic Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and admire the views from Arthur's Seat.

Split, Croatia

The perfect weekend by the sea – that's what Split, Croatia, was made for. Spend the morning hiking up to Marjan Forest Park, then head down into town to satisfy your hunger at the many traditional restaurants. Don't forget to set aside time to explore the local palace, and if you feel like hitting the beach, the city offers several secluded spots to choose from.

Cornwall, United Kingdom

If you want to spend a complete vacation by the sea, this is the place for you. Book a cozy house and set aside some time to have a cup of cream tea and enjoy the soothing sea view. For history and architecture lovers, there are various castles and ruins scattered around Cornwall that are open to visitors. If you like outdoor activities, head to the sea – you'll find plenty of entertainment to your liking.

Bordeaux, France

For those who want to taste the world's best wine, this is the place to go. A small city with beautiful architecture, magnificent gardens, and lesser-known attractions, it offers a quieter vacation than the ultra-popular Paris. However, you will get a similar atmosphere, excellent local cuisine, and the opportunity to visit vineyards on a guided tour.

Budapest, Hungary

A great city vacation that will absorb you for the whole weekend. Budapest consists of two districts – Buda and Pest, each offering something different. Visit Buda to visit the Buda's Castle and Matthias Church, while Pest will open up its bars, restaurants, and interesting walking paths. Between them lies the picturesque Danube River, which offers fantastic views.

Bruges, Belgium

Belgium's largest city, Bruges, offers delicious food, many museums, and a huge amount of beer. Visit the Roman Catholic Basilica to enjoy a moment of silence and beauty, and explore the buildings in the city center to get a real feel for the place. Be sure to take a canal cruise to get the full Bruges experience.

Valletta, Malta

The capital of Malta, Valletta, is known for its baroque monuments, museums, palaces, and majestic churches. It is a small city surrounded by a wall that can be easily walked around in one weekend. There are also beaches for those who want to relax by the sea, lagoons for swimmers, and rocks and hills for nature observation and immersion.

Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik is the northernmost capital in the world and not the place to go if you are looking for warm weather. But if you want to see attractive sights, relax and feel the cosmopolitan atmosphere, visit some of the most beautiful natural areas in the world, and get the opportunity to see the northern lights (if you move away from the city a little), then this is the place for you.
