What will be the new car BMW X5: interesting details and visualization appeared
The BMW X5 debuted in 1999 and has been setting standards in the market ever since. The car has been a symbol of power, style and innovation among mid-size luxury SUVs for many years.
Soon the carmaker should release a new version of the X5. Everything that is known about it, told Carscoops.
Recently, the new X5 was spotted on tests in Germany and Spain, next to the updated 7-Series. The car has been codenamed G65. It promises to be even more stylish, sleeker and could reclaim its status as one of the best luxury crossovers in the world.
And although the official launch has not yet taken place, some details have appeared in the network.
New Design
The new BMW X5 takes inspiration from the Vision Neue Klasse X concept, featuring sharper surfaces and elements. Up front, we'll see a reimagined signature grille surrounded by elongated headlights and horizontal daytime running lights. A muscular hood with a central notch will give the car an aggressive look, while the side fenders borrow elements from the new X3.
Door handles, similar to those used in the Ford Mustang Mach-E, will be integrated into the window lines, giving the car a minimalist look. The rear end will also undergo changes - its design will become more monolithic and rectangular.
Interior
Inside, the new X5 has the refined interior of the latest version of the 5 Series. The cabin is dominated by a curved dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen display powered by the latest version of the iDrive 8.5 system.
The car also features wireless charging, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And for music lovers, there is a premium Harman/Kardon sound system.
Powertrains
The new X5 is expected to remain on the BMW CLAR platform, which will allow the use of gasoline and electric engines. The car will be available in several variants, from hybrids to all-electric versions.
One of the key models will be the iX5, an all-electric variant of the X5 with a range of up to 475 kilometers on a single charge.
The hybrid version will be equipped with a battery of 19.4 kWh, which will allow to drive more than 64 km on electricity, and for speed lovers there are powerful turbocharged engines with up to 593 horsepower.
