"What was he doing there?": Ukrainian national biathlon team coach names the reason for the failure in the World Cup relay race

The head coach of the Ukrainian men's biathlon team, Juraj Sanitra, criticized Anton Dudchenko for his performance in the relay at the first stage of the World Cup, which is currently taking place in Östersund, Sweden. The Blue and Yellows coach noted that until the last stage of the race, his wards looked good, but the team's finisher failed in the prone shooting.

Sanitra said this in an interview with Suspilne Sport. According to the Slovakian expert, Dudchenko needs to regain his self-confidence, and the entire team needs to gain the conditions they had during the training camp in Finland before the start of the new biathlon season.

"We lost the race at one point. It's not clear what Anton Dudchenko was doing during the prone shooting. If he had shot well, he could have competed on the track. Our position was good, we could have competed for 7-8th place. I will say that the guys worked better on the track today. However, there is still something to strive for. We need to get back to the form we had during the preparation in Finland. I think that Anton lacks a little bit of confidence in the prone shooting. We need to change something. He shoots well at one time, then he has problems again, especially with prone shooting. We will look for options so that he can show himself properly in the shooting as well," Sanittra said.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian biathletes failed in the relay, finishing 14th. Earlier, Ukraine's women's biathlon team failed in the relay at the World Cup. After the race, the most beautiful athlete on our team, Khrystyna Dmytrenko, called her performance shameful.
