Hybrid cars continue to gain popularity among motorists due to their efficiency and environmental friendliness. They reduce fuel costs and help to reduce emissions.

However, purchasing a new hybrid car may be out of reach for many due to its high cost. Fortunately, there are models available on the used car market that combine quality, modern technology, and an affordable price.

Experts have named several such cars that would be a great choice for those looking for a reliable vehicle with hybrid technology. These models demonstrate that environmental friendliness and innovation can be accessible to everyone.

Experts note that hybrid cars offer significant fuel savings, allowing you to drive a longer distance between refueling. Thanks to regeneration technology, which allows the battery to recharge during braking, hybrids become even more efficient.

Today's market offers a wide range of hybrid models, including those that can travel up to 35 kilometers on electricity alone, even at a more or less affordable price of £15,000 (about 800 thousand hryvnias). Many years of experience in the production of hybrid cars have allowed us to integrate this technology into a variety of bodies, meeting the needs of a wide range of consumers.

Rating of available used hybrids:

  • Renault Clio E-Tech Hybrid
  • Hyundai IONIQ
  • Toyota C-HR
  • Volkswagen Golf GTE
  • Ford Kuga PHEV
  • Honda Jazz

Renault Clio 1.6 E-Tech Hybrid Techno

The car is a convincing choice for those looking for an efficient and stylish supermini. Although the fifth-generation model looks very similar to the fourth-generation, it has a premium feel both inside and out.

You get a well-equipped cabin with quality materials and modern technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a range of climate controls.

Its hybrid powertrain combines a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors – one to drive the wheels and assist with acceleration, and the other to support stop-start and regenerative braking.

Hyundai IONIQ 1.6 GDi Hybrid Premium SE

On sale from 2016 to 2022, this car stands out as an extremely versatile choice in the used hybrid market – it's as popular with taxi drivers as it is with families, thanks to its spacious design and practical hatchback-style trunk opening.

All models have adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a touchscreen infotainment system.

The 443-liter trunk makes it more practical than traditional hatchbacks.

Toyota C-HR 1.8 Hybrid Excel

This is a compact crossover with a rearview camera and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

This price-quality ratio is complemented by Toyota's excellent reputation for reliability. The Japanese brand has been making hybrids for decades, so it has perfected the formula.

You can choose from the same 1.8-liter gasoline hybrid system found in the Prius and Corolla, or a more powerful 2.0-liter system that accelerates noticeably faster.

Volkswagen Golf GTE

The Golf Mk7 was one of the most popular versions of this well-known name thanks to a smart combination of practicality, quality, technology, and performance.

This version of the GTE has a 1.4-liter gasoline engine and a 102-hp electric motor, bringing the total output to 204 hp.

Inside, the car looks just as special. Standard equipment includes a touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and parking sensors.

This Golf has an 8.7 kWh battery, which means it will travel approximately 20-30 miles on electricity between charges, helping you to reduce fuel costs.

Ford Kuga 2.5 PHEV ST-Line

In addition to sporty styling and faux suede upholstery, you also get power-adjustable seats, a rearview camera, heated front and rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

The 2.5-liter gasoline engine may not seem that frugal, but since the PHEV can go up to 35 miles on battery power, the official fuel economy figures are 202 miles per gallon (235 liters per 100 km). Of course, this depends entirely on how you drive it – make full use of the system's 225 hp and you'll use more gasoline.

Honda Jazz 1.5 i-MMD Hybrid EX

The Honda Jazz's upright shape and spacious interior make it a smart choice for young families looking for maximum versatility, but it's also popular with older drivers for its affordability.

It's a small car, but you can easily fit a child's bike behind the front seats. The 304-liter boot is hardly small.

The 1.5-liter gasoline hybrid system is best driven in quiet traffic, where the CVT automatic transmission feels most stable. The fourth-generation Jazz is a hybrid-only model, so expect 60 miles per gallon (3.92 l/100 km), regardless of the configuration you choose.
