What unique natural wonders can be seen in Switzerland: tips for tourists

Emerald Cruises has shown some of the lesser-known destinations where you can hardly find such crowds of tourists as in Zurich or Basel. One of them is the prehistoric pile houses in Switzerland, which date back to 5000 to 500 BC. Filled with cultural and historical significance, the archaeological site is searched on Google only 20 times a month.

Prehistoric pile houses are an important source of information about the life of people in the Neolithic and Bronze Age. They allow us to study their culture, traditions, economy, and social organization. Settlements were built on the banks of water bodies or in wetlands, which provided protection from wild animals.

The Jungfrau-Aletsch region covers an area of more than 800 square kilometers and is located between the cantons of Bern and Valais. It includes the easternmost part of the Bernese Alps, where the famous peaks of the Jungfrau (4158 m), Mönch (4107 m) and Eiger (3970 m) are located.

Lauterbrunnen Valley

The Lauterbrunnen Valley is known for its cliffs and waterfalls. The Staubbach Waterfall is one of the highest in Europe, with a height of about 300 meters. You can see the waterfall from various viewpoints, as well as visit the viewing gallery located right in the rock.

The Trümmelbach Falls are a complex of ten glacial waterfalls located inside a mountain. It is a unique natural phenomenon that can be seen from the inside thanks to specially equipped tunnels and an elevator.
