How did you imagine the smallest inhabited island in the world? Probably somewhere in the ocean... But no, it can be found between the United States and Canada in the Alexandria Strait on the St. Lawrence River. Its peculiarity is its incredibly small area, with barely a house and some vegetation on the rocky land.
Theisland is ironically named Just Room Enough Island, which means "Just one room is enough", and is also known as Hub Island. Back in 1950, the Sizeland family settled on the island and built a building, according to The Sun. But it only became known in the world in 1992 after the automation of the Bishop Rock lighthouse in England.
This piece of land in the middle of the water consists of a rather small plot (310 square meters), slightly larger than a tennis court. On its modest territory, it contains a tree, two bushes, and one private house, which still holds on to the land.
The building is constantly maintained: painted, cleaned, and shrubs trimmed. If you look closely at the old photos, the owners even replaced the roof to make the house comfortable to live in.
There is no one on the island today, but it is still private property. Because of this, this small wonder of the world can only be seen from afar. However, some people still manage to get closer to it and examine it in more detail, albeit only from a boat.
However, in the Thousand Islands archipelago, Hub Island is not the smallest. There are many small plots with only one tree.
