An air deep fat fryer is equipped with a cooking chamber, a heating element, and a fan. The heating element generates heat, and the fan circulates hot air around the cooking chamber, ensuring that the hot air reaches all sides of the food, cooking it thoroughly and evenly.

If you are going to fry food, you will need some oil. However, it is extremely important that you use the right type of oil when cooking in a deep fat fryer, OBOZ.UA writes.

Although you do not have to use a large amount of oil, it is still important to choose the right one. This is because the high temperature inside the deep fat fryer can break down oils with a lower smoke point, in turn releasing chemicals that can burn your food or give it a bitter taste.

Low smoke point oils include walnut oil, pumpkin seed oil, flaxseed oil, extra virgin olive oil, and coconut oil.

Experts advise cooking with oils with a "higher smoke point," such as canola, sunflower, or regular vegetable oil.

You can brush the oil onto the food before putting it in the deep fat fryer.

Another popular way to add oil is to use a cooking spray.

However, experts warn against this, as it can ruin the deep fat fryer. They note that some oils contain additives such as soy lecithin.

These additives can bind to the inside of the deep fat fryer, causing the accumulation of dirty residues that are difficult to clean, and this can ultimately harm the durability of your air fryer.
