Citizens of Belarus threw a tantrum online because of the attack by Russian Shahed kamikaze drones. In particular, residents of Gomel complained about the powerful explosions and thought that a war had "begun."

At the same time, Belarusians were outraged that officials did not comment on the nighttime explosions. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Belarus of the Brain."

At around 01:30 am, the explosions were heard by residents of Gomel. At the same time, residents managed to record on video the work of air defense, which resulted in a flash in the sky.

Several powerful explosions were heard in the southwestern part of Gomel, particularly in the Soviet and Novobelitsky districts. Belarusians complained that the Emergencies Ministry did not provide any details about the consequences of the explosions.

In turn, the Belarusian Gayun monitoring channel wrote that at least 8 Russian kamikaze drones flew into Belarus during the night, two of which were destroyed.

The first group of two UAVs was heading for Gomel. The wreckage of the drone fell on a warehouse in Gomel, causing the building to catch fire. It is noteworthy that no air raid alarms were activated during the air defense and UAV flight over the city of Gomel.

As a reminder, on September 5, the Russians launched another drone attack on Ukraine, with some of the UAVs again flying into Belarus. The "Shaheds" launched by the Russian Federation were shot down in the sky over Gomel.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on the night of August 29, during another Russian attack on Ukraine, one of the Shaheds flew into the territory of Belarus in the Yel district. It was the first time the country used aviation to destroy an attack drone.
