October 30, according to the New Julian calendar, is the day of remembrance of the holy martyr Zinovius and the martyr Zinovia. The brother and sister grew up in a pious family. Having been orphaned early on, they gave their inheritance to the poor and devoted their lives to serving the Lord. Zinoviy had the gift of healing the sick. In times of severe persecution of Christians, Zinovius was summoned for questioning by Emperor Diocletian. His sister, hearing the news of his imprisonment, voluntarily went to the emperor and wanted to save her brother. At first, the emperor tried to convince them both to offer sacrifices to idols, and then executed the believers.
