Tesla Model Q is an expected novelty in the electric car market, which promises to be the most affordable in the Tesla lineup. Official information is still scarce, but some details have already leaked online thanks to insiders and analysts.

As the first successful electric car manufacturer, Tesla has occupied an important niche in the global market. A new, smaller Tesla will soon be released, which will be the most affordable in its class. The model is likely to be more compact than the Model 3, which will reduce its production cost. Details about what the Tesla Q might look like were provided by GoBankingRates.

The Tesla Model Q is likely to be priced below $30,000, which would make it by far the most affordable Tesla car. The price will also be very favorable compared to its main competitors.

For example, the most likely competitors for the Model Q would be the Chevy Equinox EV, Kira Niro EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, Volkswagen ID.3, and Ford Mustang Mach-E. The price of these cars varies from about $28,000 to $42,995.

However, all the information available on the web about the Model Q is currently just a rumor, as the company itself has not commented.

Car & Driver and other publications have put together "educated guesses" based on information in the Deutsche Bank report and other comments from Tesla and its executives in recent months.

The car is rumored to be 15% smaller than the Tesla Model 3 and 30% lighter. The Model Q may feature fully autonomous driving and will be available for sale in mid-2025.

The new car is likely to be based on an existing Tesla chassis, such as the Model 3. It is expected to come with two battery configurations:

53 kWh rear-wheel drive LFP battery with a range of up to 498 km, or

a 75 kWh LFP all-wheel drive battery that is slightly less efficient than the rear-wheel drive version.

One plausible explanation for the lack of real information about the new car could be that the so-called Model Q could simply be a more affordable reworking of an existing model like the Model 3, possibly with one or both of the lithium iron phosphate batteries mentioned above.

The Model Q will have a modern and minimalist styling that is typical of other Tesla models.

The novelty can make electric vehicles even more accessible to a wide range of consumers, contributing to the transition to environmentally friendly transportation.
