What holidays are celebrated on November 26

November 26, according to the New Julian calendar, is the day of remembrance of St. Alypius. He was born in Adrianople. The boy lost his father early in life, so he was given to Bishop Theodore for upbringing, while his mother worked in a church. During a trip to Constantinople, the monk had a vision in which the Great Martyr Euphemia appeared to him and ordered him to return home and build a church. Alypius fulfilled the instruction, and next to the church, the saint erected a pillar for himself, on which he prayed and taught tirelessly for 53 years. Alypius is said to have had the gift of healing and the ability to prophesy.
