On October 10, Orthodox believers honor the memory of the martyrs Evlampius and Evlampia. Aristarchus, Zinaida, Ignatius, Mark, and Sava celebrate their name days.

What holidays are celebrated on October 10

On October 10, according to the New Julian calendar, the day of remembrance of the martyrs Evlampius and Evlampia is celebrated. The brother and sister were born into a wealthy family in Nicodemus. Eulampius was the first to convert to Christianity, but the emperor issued an order to purge the city of Christ's followers. The young man was immediately captured and brought to trial, where he stood up to all the torture. When Evlampia learned about her brother's suffering, she ran to the court, declared herself a Christian, and said that she was ready to endure all the torments with her brother. The martyrs have become a symbol of steadfast faith.

The Day of Workers of Standardization and Metrology in Ukraine was established by Presidential Decree No. 910/2002 of 08.10.2002 and is celebrated annually on October 10.

The international event World Mental Health Day has been held on October 10 since 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health. The events are aimed at spreading knowledge about effective methods of promoting mental health and preventing mental illness.

October 10 is also celebrated around the world:
