Fortunately, however, even today it is possible to find decent car models not for all the money in the world. Cars shared the rating of the cheapest new cars as of April 2024.

1. Mitsubishi Mirage ES

The Mirage is a subcompact hatchback with seating for up to five people. It has a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine and delivers impressive fuel economy.

2. Nissan Versa S.

The 2024 Nissan Versa is equipped with active safety and driver assistance features that are not often seen in cheap cars.

Under the hood of the Versa S is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 122 horsepower, which is paired with an optional CVT.

3. Kia Forte LX

The most affordable 2024 Kia Forte trim is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

This compact sedan is equipped with standard features such as a large 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and automatic emergency braking.

4. Hyundai Venue SE

All models are equipped with four-cylinder engines paired with CVT and 8-inch touchscreens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and more.

5. Chevrolet Trax LS

The updated 2024 Trax has become more spacious inside and has a new 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine under the hood.

Technological upgrades to the model include an 8-inch center touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, and Chevy Safety Assist.

6. Kia Soul LX

The Soul hatchback from Kia has a set of standard safety and driver assistance features, such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and more.

All models have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT.

7. Nissan Sentra S

The most significant updates to the Nissan Sentra in 2024 are a new CVT and a stop-start function that slightly improves the fuel efficiency of its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

The compact sedan provides a controlled, comfortable ride with crisp steering. The S comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of advanced safety technologies.

8. 2024 Nissan Kicks S

Kicks is a small front-wheel drive hatchback. The model has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 122 hp.

In addition to an affordable price, the Kicks offers solid fuel economy and extensive standard safety features. The base S trim also comes with standard cruise control.

9. Hyundai Elantra SE

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra received a new style, additional safety features and some interior updates.

In 2024, the Elantra will be available only as a sedan, and the most affordable SE trim will again be equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a powerful CVT.

10. Toyota Corolla LE

Toyota Corolla is available as a compact sedan or a four-door hatchback. As standard, the model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 169 hp.

The 2024 Corolla is equipped with a long list of standard features, including an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, lane departure warning with assisted driving, adaptive cruise control, and more.
