VW's new-generation budget car revealed in photos for the first time

Budget VW ID.2 will join the updated electric lineup of the manufacturer. The design should be performed in the style of the concept Volkswagen ID2.all, which foreshadowed the appearance of the new model. However, it is too early to judge about it - on the test site showed a prototype with a shortened body Volkswagen ID.3.

It was previously reported that the production version will look even better than the concept. The new Volkswagen ID.2 will be small, with a length of about 4 meters, a wheelbase of 2600 mm, a width of approximately 1.8 meters and a height of 1.5 meters. The new MEB Entry platform is used as the basis, on which the compact crossover will also be built.

In addition to the base car with a price of about 25,000 euros, a sporty GTI variant is planned. Approximate power of the electric powertrain in the top version - 250 hp. Power reserve after a full charge - in the range of 300-400 km.
