After the camera was invented, there were enthusiasts all over the world who took photos of different locations. Kyiv was not spared from this hobby, and pictures of the city from the early 1900s were found in the Washington Library.
The archival photos were published in the community "Thirst: Kyiv is interesting" on Facebook. The capital has changed a lot since then.

The tram appeared in Kyiv at the end of the 19th century, but it immediately began to develop and gained immense popularity among the city's residents. Few people know, but its predecessor was a horse-drawn carriage that ran along the rails, and the first cars were, among other things, steam-powered.
