The fight ended in the first round
Cuban boxer Dayan Gonzalez (16-0, 14 KOs) won the IBO featherweight title in a spectacular way. At a boxing evening in Liverpool, England, the 25-year-old native of Havana defeated Thailand's Wira Mikham (16-1, 11 KOs) in just 35 seconds.
The 12-round fight ended in the first round. Already in the 35th second, Gonzalez delivereda powerful uppercut, knocking his opponent down.
Although he managed to get up, he did not convince the referee that he was ready to continue the fight. Thus, the fight, which marked Cuban's tenth knockout victory in a row, was stopped.
As reported, on October 12, an undefeated heavyweight lost a title fight by knockout in mind-blowing 27 seconds, right after the first punch. Thus, Italian Alessio Bisutti (9-0, 8 KOs) won a lightning-fast victory, securing a then-vacant UBO continental heavyweight title.
