Ukraine is recognized as one of the most dangerous countries in the world

International SOS, a medical and security consulting company, annually evaluates various factors to inform tourists and business travelers about potential threats in countries around the world. It combines ratings in the areas of medical, security, and climate change this year, which are formed taking into account such events as the war in Ukraine or the escalation of the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas terrorists.

This year, like last year, Ukraine was recognized as one of the most dangerous countries in the world. The corresponding map was posted on the International SOS website.

As we noted above, this year countries were assessed not only for health and security risks but also for climate risks. In the latter category, humanitarian crises and disasters caused by climate change were analyzed.

In general, in each category, countries are rated on a five-point scale from "low" to "very high" for health and climate risks, and from "insignificant" to "extreme" for security risks.

In the security sphere, Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and Somalia received the highest level of warning, which is "extreme". Parts of Lebanon, the Palestinian Territories, Russia and the Sahel countries, as well as Ecuador and some parts of Colombia, are also among the most dangerous due to the rise in crime and unrest.

Meanwhile, the safest countries are in Europe: Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, and Denmark.

In the medical category, countries with a "very high" risk include Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, North Korea, the Palestinian Territories, Haiti, Libya, Niger, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Sudan, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Eritrea, Burundi, and Somalia.

Countries with a "very high" risk of climate change include Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Chad, Niger, Mali, Nigeria, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mozambique.

As OBOZ.UA wrote earlier, the rating of the happiest EU countries was published. To know what country is on top of the list and why Germany is lagging behind because of the war in Ukraine, read the article.
