At an extraordinary congress in Zurich on Wednesday, December 11, the International Football Federation (FIFA) officially announced that Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will host the 2030 World Cup. Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay will also be the "centenary hosts," hosting one opening match each. The 2034 World Cup will be hosted by Saudi Arabia.

Only one application was registered for both tournaments, and the decision was made by acclamation (applause) instead of voting.

The 24th FIFA World Cup, the final part of which is scheduled for June to July 2030, will be held exactly one hundred years after the first-ever World Cup.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in October 2023, the FIFA Council decided to hold the 2030 World Cup in six countries. For the first time in the history of football, the World Cup will be held simultaneously on three continents.

The main matches will take place in Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. Morocco was originally supposed to take the place of Ukraine, but in March our country was excluded from the application.

It will be recalled that the Ukrainian national football team will learn about the rivals from the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada on Friday, December 13. Serhiy Rebrov's team failed to make it to the top of the seedings after a poor performance in the League of Nations.
