Ukraine goalkeeper makes final decision on career at Real Madrid – media

Oleksandr ChekanovNews
Lunin missed the Champions League final

Ukraine goalkeeper Andrii Lunin has finally decided to leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. Our footballer did not agree to extend his contract with the "royal club" until 2029 because of doubts that he will receive more playing time in the new season.

This is reported by the portal El Gol Digital. According to the portal, Andrii has already informed his family and agent Jorge Mendes about his intention to change teams. Lunin was upset by the situation with the Champions League final, for which coach Carlo Ancelotti fielded Belgian Thibaut Courtois, although he had missed nine months before due to injury.

Journalists note that Lunin has a cold relationship with Ancelotti. The Ukrainian is confident that his performance last season proved his right to fight for the No. 1 position, but the Italian will still rely on Courtois.

Our goalkeeper is currently focused on the European Championship in Germany. Successful play at the championship will allow the Ukrainian goalkeeper to get new lucrative offers.

Before that, Juventus and Manchester United wanted to see the Ukrainian in their ranks, and they were ready to pay 40 million euros for Andrii. And the last one to show interest in Andrii was the London-based Arsenal.

In total, the Ukrainian goalkeeper played 31 matches in all tournaments last season, in which he conceded 32 goals and 12 matches were nil. He was particularly memorable in the Champions League matches against Leipzig and Manchester City when he won a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals.
