Ukraine's biathlon team has won a silver medal at the Junior World Championships (JWC) in Otepää, Estonia. Stepan Kinash, Bohdan Borkovskyi, Serhii Suprun and Vitalii Mandzyn finished in second place, 56 seconds behind the winners.

Before the final stage, our team was in third place, behind the French and Norwegians. Isaac Frey was able to work on the firing lines accurately and without mistakes, securing the victory for his team, but the French biathlete went to the penalty lap.

Mandzyn took advantage of this. Using two additional rounds of ammunition, our compatriot left the Tehvandi Stadium in second place. On the last lap, Vitalii withstood the battle with rivals from France and Germany, eventually breaking away from his closest pursuer by 10 seconds.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Ukrainian biathlete Oleksandra Merkushyna became the champion of the World Cup. The 19-year-old athlete won a gold medal in the mass start race, snatching the award in the last meters of the course.
