Toyota is preparing dozens of new cheap electric vehicles with a long range

Japanese company Toyota is preparing several new electric vehicles, which it plans to make quite cheap and attract many buyers. At the same time, the manufacturer will offer an increased range in the new models.

This became known to Autocar. The first such electric cars will appear by 2026. New batteries will be developed for them – technological and cheap to produce. Different units will provide a range of 800 and 1000 km.

Until recently, Toyota was skeptical about battery electric cars. Now the company has decided to flood the market with cheap electric vehicles. The goal is to increase annual sales to millions of units worldwide.

Toyota intends to increase sales of electric cars to 1.5 million units by 2026. At least 10 new models will contribute to this. These electric cars must be truly affordable if the company expects high sales.

Moreover, by 2030, it is planned to increase annual sales to 3.5 million units worldwide. Obviously, this refers to the total sales of the entire Toyota Group, including its subsidiaries Daihatsu and Lexus. The latter will be responsible for premium, most expensive, and well-equipped electric models.
